Justin Timberlake talks about his childhood, the smells he loves and his latest splurge.
Is there a scent that you associate with growing up?
The smell of any sort of breakfast meat being cooked because it reminds me of the time when my grandmother used to cook me breakfast. The other one is fresh-cut grass because one of my chores when I was a kid was to mow our huge yard.
What smells do you love now?
Grass because it reminds me of golf. I also love the scent of evergreens, because I love the mountains. All of my smells are based on exploring.
You mentioned that you never used to wear cologne. How has that changed?
Ironically I wear Givenchy Play. I actually like it. I just spray a little on the neck and the wrist. I don’t spray it on my clothing. I feel like that’s too much. Plus it can dye the clothing so there’s that risk.
You have great skin. What is your grooming routine like?
I do? I used to be called pizza face in middle school, true story. I had really bad acne.
What was your last splurge?
I recently went on a skiing trip to British Columbia for my birthday. I’ve been to Whistler many times.
