The Twilight star shared her health and beauty secrets with Glow during our November cover shoot.
• “I fly a lot. So I travel with extreme amounts of moisturizer and slather
it on—I even put it on my neck so I don’t end up with a turkey gobble.”
• “I’m always fully stocked with ChapStick. I get sent a lot, so I just collect them. I use it wherever I go.”
• “In my normal day-to-day life, I don’t really wear a lot of makeup. I feel like when I was younger I wore a lot more makeup and it aged me a lot, so I’m holding onto my youth, you could say.”
• “For the first Twilight, we dyed my hair blonde. It took an entire week to get it to that colour. And then most of my hair fell out. The second through the last [Twilight], I wore wigs. I’m still growing my hair out. My mom is a beautician, so she makes me do a lot of the old-school stuff, [like] putting mayonnaise and avocado in my hair. And I use a lot of Moroccan oil.”
• “I quit smoking three years ago, on July 5th, and the only reason I bring that up is because I feel like it’s my greatest accomplishment.”
• “When I quit smoking, ironically, it was about two weeks before we began the third movie and started fight training. I know I couldn’t have done any of it if I had still been smoking.”
• “Movie fighting is not the same as real fighting. It’s more like a dance. It’s two people dancing together and swinging and moving and ducking. I love how I feel after a fight scene. It makes me feel really strong and powerful.”
• “I am extremely active. [My husband] Paul and I hike. We just got back from SoulCycle about an hour ago and we do Pilates together. You see a lot of actors only wanting to work one-on-one with a trainer, but I like the energy of a class. There are a lot of people struggling right there with you.”
