Battling acne? These diet tips will help clear things up.

Not so hot

Spices like cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes can contribute to acne flare-ups. If you're concerned about the lack of flavour, try fresh herbs like thyme and oregano.


Eat the right veggies

Water helps flush out toxins and calms down skin inflammation. Opt for veggies that have high water content like cucumbers. Carrots and sweet potatoes are also good options since they're rich in vitamin A which is great for skin and body detox.

Enjoy oysters

Zinc is known as an acne-fighting ingredient and it's found in oysters. It controls male hormones that are linked to acne. Bonus: they're known for boosting sex drive.

Embrace yogurt

Although recent studies have linked dairy products to acne, greek yogurt and kefir actually help eliminate bad bacteria that leads to acne.

Go for H2O

Water is the key to staying hydrated and flushing out toxins that can lead to acne. So drink up. You can also flavour it with frozen berries and lemon slices to mix things up.
